THE FAITHFUL TRAIL

The faithful trail ends with fulfillment of promise from God. There are a lot of promises in the Bible (one account reports over 50) and it is good to remember as many as you can. It is a blessing to read God's Word and be reminded of what He has graciously promised to us who believe in His only Son, Jesus, who is the Redeemer.

Take, for example, Jeremiah 33:3:

'Call to me and I will answer you
and tell you great and unsearchable things
you do not know."

I'm liking that one!

Or, how about Hebrews 10:35:

So do not throw away your confidence;
it will be richly rewarded.

I'm shooting for that!

Remember Romans 10:9?:

That if you confess with your mouth,
"Jesus is Lord,"
and believe in your heart
that God raised him from the dead,
you will be saved.

And then there's John 3:36, which adds a warning:

Whoever believes in the Son
has eternal life,
but whoever rejects the Son
will not see life,
for God's wrath remains on him.

Be diligent in your prayer life. Your calling on God in truth will avail much if you don't give up. Many of us know of prodigals we are praying for every day. Many of us have continual prayer lists and see God working. Stick to the faithful trail and remember God's unfailing promises of knowledge, reward, life, peace and love.

Where The Leaves Dance

Jesus gives peace.

He does not give to us as the world does. How does the world give? I think it gives expecting to get something back, like a payment. It also gives temporarily, not able to satisfy fully and completely.

But Jesus made all payment when He died for our sins on the cross. Heavenly peace touches our hearts and holds us better than we could imagine when we're trusting God, and it will last forever.

There are many problems to face in the course of our lives. There are injustices and hurts, set-backs and losses, deceptions and lies. But the God of peace can help us. God, the Son gives peace to those who would receive it.

Therefore, since we have been made right
in God's sight by faith, we have peace with God
because of what Jesus Christ our Lord
has done for us.
Romans 5:1

Having peace with God can put a smile on your face. Having the Creator of the universe listen to your prayer call can cause you to relax and sit a spell. Having Jesus as your friend can help you sleep and rest.

No Jesus, No Peace.     Know Jesus, Know Peace.

We are off to a beautiful, early summer here in our neck of the woods. It is fantastic to hear the birds and watch the woods grow alive with greenery everywhere. One of my favorite birds is the veery thrush. It's mystical sound echoes off the tree trunks all around and is soon answered by another veery very deep in the woods. If you haven't heard the veery, I greatly encourage you to walk into a forest and listen for it. You might find yourself closing your eyes and taking in the peace freely given by the God of peace and everlasting love.
