THE ORANGE LEAF

Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Fall is underway here in my neck of the woods. The brisk air brings on the Autumn season as maple trees start to change color and drop leaves. Creation around me reminds me of the Creator’s authority and attention.

In the Bible, the first verse tells us that in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. How cool is it that in order to create time, God had to be outside of time? In order to create the heaven and the earth, God had to stand outside of them, too. We read in His authoritative Word that He spoke them into existence! This tells me God is very powerful.

The eternal Creator who created time knows every detail too, including the hemline of the priest's robes (Exodus 39) and the amount of hair on our heads at any given time. He reads our hearts and amount of faith! This tells me God is truly amazing.

But even the very hairs of your head
are all numbered. Fear not therefore:
ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Luke 12:7
and
But the LORD said unto Samuel,
Look not on his countenance,
or on the height of his stature;
because I have refused him:
for the LORD seeth not as a man seeth;
for man looketh on the outward appearance,
but the LORD looketh on the heart.
1 Samuel 16:7

God, our Creator, spoke and it was. And so was it in the birth of His Son, born of the virgin Mary. God had said at the beginning ‘Let there be Light’ and Jesus Christ is that Light. God orchestrated everything—from the big picture to the details. All was done and is done according to His will. Have you noticed there is nothing vague or haphazard about God? And, He gives all authority to His Son, Jesus— the way, the truth and the life. By belief in Christ, who is God incarnate, we have reconciliation, salvation, eternal life, joy, hope, inheritance and victory.

(of his dear Son…)
Who is the image of the invisible God,
the firstborn of every creature:
For by him were all things created,
that are in heaven, and are in earth,
visible and invisible,
whether they be thrones, or dominions or
principalities, or powers:
all things were created by him, and for him.
Colossians 1:15-16
and
For it pleased the Father
 that in him should all fullness dwell;
And, having made peace through the blood
of his cross, by him to reconcile
 all things unto himself;
by him, I say,
whether they be things in earth,
or things in heaven.
Colossians 1: 19-20

Have you read the Parable of the Tenants lately? Jesus tells us in Matthew 21:33-45 a story about a landowner who planted a vineyard. Tenants rented from the landowner. When harvest came, the nasty tenants beat the landowner's servants who had come to collect the fruit. Then, the landowner sent his son, thinking the tenants would respect his son.

But when the husbandmen saw the son,
they said among themselves,
This is the heir; come, let us kill him,
and let us seize on his inheritance.
Matthew 21:38

Don't kill your faith opportunity. People become children of God because of their belief in   Christ. If we were all born children of God, there would be no need for redemption.             (With babies and small children, I trust God's judgment.) If we were all born children of God, God wouldn’t have needed to send His Son to die for our sins. Everyone is made in God’s image but it’s a lie from the devil that we are born children of God. We must become children of God.

But as many as received him,
to them gave he power to become
the sons of God, even to them that
believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood,
nor of the will of the flesh,
nor of the will of man,
but of God.
John 1:12-13

Present your prayer petitions with thanksgiving to God in Jesus' name and see for yourself how powerful and amazing God is. He will hear you if you believe from your heart. It’s God who can comfort you. It’s God who can help you. Rely on Him. Trust Him.

Newest News:  I have been working on a Christmas poetry book for this coming Christmas season 2018. I am hoping it will be available at Amazon.com in time for Christmas. The name of the book is: Unto Us: A Christmas Poetry Book. It’s my hope that this simple book of poems will encourage readers in faith and help cause meditation on the true meaning of Christmas. Would you pray for its impact?

Happy October 1st! Enjoy the fall season in your neck of the woods! Catch the Orange Leaf that the Maple Tree freely gives for our JOY.
