Forest Winds
Happy September 1st and the beginning of the ‘bers’!

It wasn't too difficult to pick today's poem to post. Yes, the September winds are kicking up. The beginning of Fall has begun. I have seen a yellow hue on many trees and some leaves are already orange and red. I remember a forest friend explaining the sicker trees are often the first to turn.
 
And my husband and I heard blue jays cawing through the woods. They were the only bird to be heard as if they were giving the final call to "Leave...and head south, all birds that migrate!"

How do I tie in Forest Winds with a word about prayer? God Knows. He knows who believes and who is deceived.

Know ye not that the unrighteous
shall not inherit the kingdom of God?
Be not deceived:
neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers,
nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, 
nor revilers, nor extortioners,
shall inherit the kingdom of God.
And such were some of you: But ye are washed,
but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified
in the name of the Lord Jesus,
and by the Spirit of our God.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10

How do you know a line is straight if you don't have a ruler? What do we measure things by? What is my standard? Who is my authority?
 
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:15

If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, then He is saying to do as He says for these are His words. Who is your Commander in Chief? Who rules your heart? If you are a fellow person of faith, I encourage you to do your best in following the commands of Jesus. May we be excellent followers to the best of our ability. Of course, we mess up because no one is perfect, as God knows. Confess sin and understand there is sufficient grace for you, as God has said.

And I will pray the Father,
and he shall give you another Comforter,
that he may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of truth;
whom the world cannot receive,
because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him:
but ye know him;
for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
John 14:16-17

How awesome to be given the Holy Spirit to guide! A powerful force lies within believers. A presence outside of this world lives within the heart of a little girl or boy believing. Trust what God gives.

In the name of Jesus, kneel before God and ask for assistance in being a good follower. Think of the military and taking orders, being diligent. Can you do what you are told? Remember the centurion in Luke chapter 7? Ask for faith like the centurion. Focus on how the centurion respected authority and be like him. Be the one who respects authority in a climate of disrespect. 

We live by the choices we make—and die by them.

Know ye not,
that to whom ye yield
yourselves servants to obey,
his servants ye are to whom ye obey;
whether of sin unto death,
or of obedience unto righteousness?
But God be thanked, that ye were the
servants of sin, but ye have obeyed
from the heart that form of doctrine which
was delivered you. Being then made free
from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
Romans 6:16-19

With God it’s a heart matter. God knows because He looks at the human heart. He can look at every heart and across all time, which He alone created because He is the Creator of time and us. From your heart of hearts, do you acknowledge the authority of Christ’s words in your life? There is a way which seems right to people, but in the end there is only death. We can’t measure ourselves against each other because no one is perfect. There must be a higher authority by which to measure.

Turn to prayer, the vehicle for self-alignment, for spirit alignment. Ask that which you need to ask. See if there is blessing for your faith.

Jesus saith unto him,
I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father,
but by me.
John 14:6

I know there must be glorious forests in Heaven waiting for us to walk among them. May forest winds guide you to follow with JOY!
