WOODLAND PRAISE
It is high noon and the
sunshine pours
on the pine trees standing
stately,
raising gateways and old
ancient doors
as the woodland sings whom
it adores—
everlasting praises
greatly.
In the grove, there is
magnificence,
The most highest name
exalting;
glory, admiration, one can
sense,
even stones cry out the
difference—
everlasting King extolling.
On the frost beneath my
grateful feet,
in cathedrals, high and
lofty,
I thank my Savior there I
meet,
who sits upon the right
hand seat—
everlasting love
graciously.
In stalwart groves, by icy
streams,
through creation that is
honoring,
magnifying Christ who
rightly deems
from the woodlands to the
sea that teems--
everlasting kingdom
revering.
By him
therefore let us offer
the sacrifice
of praise to God continually,
that is, the
fruit of our lips
giving thanks
to his name.
But to do
good and to communicate forget not:
for with such
sacrifices God is well pleased.

13:15-16

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Praise God in prayer.
It’s a time for family and friends to
remember to be thankful. Indeed, we should be every day! We find things we have
committed to the Lord in prayer need to be appreciated back to the Lord. We
know it is God’s doing and so we must thank him for his goodness to us. God
listens and loves with an everlasting love.
The
one who said thanks...
Remember when Jesus healed the
ten men with leprosy but only one of them came back to him to say ‘thank you’?
There are many things to be
thankful for: freedom, not being persecuted for your faith, reminders to pray
for those being persecuted for their faith, a warm house, good water, a job,
family, friends, abilities, joys God gives on a beautiful silver platter,
music, and opportunities. What do you thank God for? Tell Him when you pray.
He’d like to hear our joys, I think. Present your concerns but remember to
praise God for what He is doing. Count your blessings, name them one by one.
When Jesus entered Jerusalem and
people called out 'Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!', the
Pharisees in the crowd told Jesus to rebuke his disciples. And his reply was:
Here in the woods, nature speaks
thankfulness. The barren, stalwart trees know God is in control as they wait
quietly for winter snows to come. The sun shines through the trees, reminding
all creation of God's faithfulness. God knows who is thankful. So speak
thankfulness back to God. It doesn't go unnoticed by the Great Mathematician
who records everything. Make for yourself a great tally sheet.
