VICTORY HILL

Only the LIVING GOD could raise His Son from the dead. What seems impossible is not impossible with God, who made time. To make time, one must be outside of it. God is eternal. And He lives.

"Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert,

so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone

who believes in him may have eternal life."

John 3:14-15

Remember when Moses led the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt? He led them to the Promised Land. It was a difficult journey and the people grumbled along the way.

"The people grew impatient on the way; they spoke against God and against Moses, and said, 'Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the desert? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!' Then the LORD sent venomous snakes among them; they bit the people and many Israelites died. The people came to Moses and said, 'We sinned when we spoke against the LORD and against you. Pray that the LORD will take the snakes away from us.' So Moses prayed for the people. The LORD said to Moses, 'Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.' So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, he lived."
Numbers 21:4-9

Through God's grace, a remedy for sin was provided. All who looked to God's remedy in faith were healed. Jesus referred to this Old Testament event when teaching about his atoning death.

The Son of Man Must Be Lifted Up

The Bible tells us that we have all sinned. By ourselves, we have no cure. The wages of sin is death.

Jesus is the only one who can save us. God has provided us with the remedy. Forgiveness of sins is realized through Jesus who "must be lifted up", a reference to the sacrificial death of our Lord Jesus Christ. Every sin we have committed is forgiven and fully pardoned through the atoning death of Christ on the cross.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus. The Israelites looked to the bronze serpent God instructed Moses to make, and they were healed. We must look to Jesus for healing because we can’t heal ourselves. The just shall live by faith in what He did on our behalf. We must trust God’s remedy if we are to be made right with God.

When the perishable has been clothed
with the imperishable, and the mortal with
immortality, then the saying that is written will come true:
"Death has been swallowed up in victory."
"Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?"
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God!
He gives us the victory through
our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:54-57

Are you rejoicing this Easter on Victory Hill?
Death, the final enemy, has been conquered!
Lift your voice with the LIVING GOD and all of creation in JOY!
